Video ads in the newspaper – Harry Potter here we come!

The U.S. company Americhip has developed a solution that allows advertisers to pay the newspaper's traditional print ads to commercials. The magazine Entertainment Weekly will be the first to try the solution when CBS runs advertising in their edition on 18 September.

Technically speaking, it is about a 2.7 millimeter thin screen with resolution 320x240 pixels, which is coupled to a memory that will accommodate up to 40 minutes of video material.

We have previously written about a similar solution when the American magazine Esquire last year, ran the video on its cover. Here you see a taste of what it will look like in Entertainment Weekly. Ok, so its not like in Harry Potter, but in a future near you...?
