Google Self-Driving Cars Hooning Around

At the TED 2011 conference in Long Beach, Google gave rare demos of its auto-driving car. This is from the inside & outside of the car. The car is making extreme turns unlike it would on regular roads because it is on a closed-course and it demonstrating its capabilities. Having sex while driving sure got easier...

So, it really turns accordingly to what kind of road you're on? Cool. I wonder if they'll consider adding Wi-Fi internet connectivity in this car? But there's still time until this gets finally done, right?

Judging by the performance of the car, they must have done some pretty intense programming sessions for the detection of corners and obstacles. Would you happen to know the stuff they used for the sensor system?
