In New Zealand pedestrians have a higher chance of being killed in traffic during the rain period. To show motorists that vigilance is needed when it rains, this special billboard were installed on the roadside. Once it began to rain, it started bleeding profusely.
It seems that this has worked well since the accident rate have decreased on the roads of the district during the operation. See the bloody device more closely in the video below:
I came across this billboard on I Believe in Adv, and I'm really glad to hear it's been effective in reducing accidents-- I was afraid it'd be so distracting that it would create more! It definitely got a lot of media attention though, which makes it prime to go viral on YouTube.
